Auditions - Tuesday, May 14
Middle School Auditorium
3:15-5:00
Any elementary student that plans on riding the bus to the middle school, MUST have a note giving permission. Please send these in before May 14.
The day of the auditions, all students will meet in the middle school auditorium at 3:15. Miss Harris, Mrs. Schipper, and Mrs. Nichol will pull students into the band room in pairs to do their auditions. While students are not auditioning, they will be in the auditorium with our high school theater students learning the music and choreography. This will give us a head start in preparing for the show. Remember, it's normal to be nervous, but we are excited for you and want you to do well! We can't wait to see what talent you have!!
Vocal AuditionThe first portion of the audition will be a vocal singing audition. Some character parts will sing higher or lower than the rest, and we need to know what your voice sounds like to see which role it might be best for! For this audition, everyone will be sing the same part of "Cruella DeVil."

Mini - Monologues
During the audition, you will be asked to sing with a partner and perform individually for the directors. For the song, you will need to learn a small portion of “Cruella DeVil” (music is available to listen to and practice with on the website). Then, learn and perform the monologues below and prepare it. Auditioning with Cruella’s lines does not mean that you are ONLY interested in that role, or that you are guaranteed that role. We just want to see how you can learn lines and get into character, so have fun with it! Memorization is not required, but it does help us see what you’re capable of!
CRUELLA
(inspecting the puppies) Why, I don’t think I’ve quite seen anything like them! Look at the depth! Look at the patterns! Why, they’re practically works of art! (aside) And just what I need to complete my collection. (To Roger and Anita) You know what? I’ve changed my mind. I’ve been without a pet for long enough. No one to play with. I can’t wait to wear – I mean, care for all the little puppies. I’ll buy the whole litter! How much?
